Korina Manolidi has studied Chemistry at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where apart from Chemistry she has obtained a minor degree of Oenology. Her undergraduate thesis was related to preparation and analysis of sunscreens, conducted at the University of Porto, Portugal, under the supervision of Dr. Joaquim C. G. Esteves da Silva and Dr. Michael Scoullos, in the frame of the Erasmus/Socrates Scholarship, provided by the State Scholarships Foundation. At the end of her studies she has been an intern at the General Chemical State Laboratory of Athens, Directorate of Alcohol and Foods. Furthermore, she has obtained a Master’s degree on “Chemical Analysis and Quality Control”, at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, at the Department of Chemistry. Her master thesis entitled “Method development for the analysis of natural organic dyestuffs” was carried out in Vienna University of Technology at the Institute of Chemical Technologies and Analytics, in Vienna, Austria, under the supervision of Prof. Erwin Rosenberg and Prof. Nikolaos S. Thomaidis, in the frame of the Erasmus/Socrates Scholarship. Korina Manolidi has professional experience in Quality Control of medicines in the pharmaceutical company "FAMAR", located in Avlonas, Greece. At present, she is conducting her PhD thesis at NCSR-“Demokritos” at the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology on the development of methods for the analysis of cyanotoxins by LC-MS/MS, under the supervision of Dr. Anastasia Hiskia, in the frame of ARISTEIA-“CYANOWATER” research program.
