ABOUT/BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Glykeria Visvini received her Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Physics from the University of Patras and her Master’s degree (MSc) in “Materials Physics” from the Department of Physics of the University of Patras. Subsequently, she received her PhD, which focused on the development of “breathable” membranes based on polymeric composites with carbon based nanomaterials, from the Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas / Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences (FORTH/ICE-HT) of Patras and from the Department of Physics of the University of Patras. Her research interests focused on synthesis and preparation of composites (Materbatches, Compounds and Films), preparation and study of different carbon-based materials, characterization of materials (polymers, carbon-based materials, composites etc.) and study of the water vapor permeability property of various composite films. She is currently a Post - Doctoral Researcher at the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology of National Centre for Scientific Research ‘DEMOKRITOS’ – NCSRD. Her current activities are focused on the MultiCool project ‘’Hybrid multifunctional cooling metamaterials for nextgeneration high - efficiency solar cells’’. Specifically, her expertise concerns the synthesis and preparation of acrylic resins for Nanoimprint Lithography (NIL) and the synthesis, preparation and characterization of composite materials based on thermoplastic polymers or UV curable resins, embedded with micro-particles (silicon dioxide - SiO2) and nano-particles (titanium dioxide - TiO2), for Nanoimprint Lithography (NIL), which are intended to be applied in solar cells for passive radiative cooling.
