ABOUT/BIOGRAPHY
Evgenia Pliagkou is a chemistry graduate from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) and a postgraduate student in the Master’s program Microsystems and Nanodevices at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). Her research interests lie in the development of microfluidic and paper-based analytical platforms for environmental and biomedical applications, with a focus on microfabrication, plasma surface modification, and colorimetric detection of toxic metals in water. Currently, she carries out her MSc. thesis research work at INN, NCSR “Demokritos”. She has previously worked on molecular self-assembly and two-dimensional nanostructures on metallic substrates using scanning tunneling microscopy images and she has experience in soft lithography, ultrasonic sealing, and fluorescence microscopy for particle manipulation and characterization at the microscale.
