ABOUT/BIOGRAPHY
Athanasios Botsialas received the B.S degree in Electronics Engineering from the TEI of Piraeus (2005) and the MSc in Microelectronics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2008). From 2005 he is working as Electronics Engineer at the IMEL of NCSR “Demokritos”. His interests include instrumentation development, software development, experimental device characterization, design of data acquisition and automation applications for prototype measurement stations. His work was initially focused on OLED’s and OPV’s electro-optic characterization systems, later extended on chemo capacitor characterization, thin film thickness measurements and interferometric biochips measurement set ups. From 2008 till 2017 he worked as laboratory associate at the Elec. Eng. Dept. TEI of Piraeus teaching the laboratory parts of lessons Electronic Physics, Electronic Measurements and PCB Design. He is a co-author in than 10 journal articles on organic electronics and sensors. From 2019 is working as a Process Engineer at the clean room facilities of the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (INN) being responsible for the Ion Implanter and Low-Pressure Chemical Vapour Deposition systems operation, the implantation and deposition processes, and systems’ maintenance. Also, he is a PhD Candidate in Sensors technology at the Informatics and Telecommunications Department, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens working his thesis with title: Integrated sensors system for substances detection in gas and/or liquid environments.
