Mr Athanasios Anastasiou received his B.Sc. degree in Applied Mathematics and Physics in 2012 from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece and his M.Sc. in Chemistry and Materials Science in 2016 from University of Ioannina, Greece. Since 2016 he is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Ioannina in the department of Materials Science and Engineering, working at the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology of the National Centre for Scientific Research “Demokritos” on the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Group. His MSc research was focused on Synthesis and Characterization of Magnetic Nanoparticles for Reservoir Characterization. He has already worked on the rebuilt of a Core Flooding Machine at NCSR Demokritos. His current study focuses on Flow Properties of Magnetic Nanofluids with NMR/MRI techniques

His research interests include ¹H NMR relaxation and diffusion studies of liquids containing magnetic nanoparticles, confined in porous systems and the development and application of NMR and MRI methodologies in the study of flow processes in these systems.
