ABOUT/BIOGRAPHY
Lydia Gkoura received her B.Sc. degree in Physics (2012) and M.Sc. in Electronics and Radioelectrology (2014) from National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in Greece.
She obtained her PhD in Chemical Engineering (2019) from National and Technical University of Athens in Greece, where she carried out research in Solid State Nuclear Magnetic Resonance NMR Group in the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology of the National Center for Scientific Research NCSR “Demokritos”. During her doctoral research she participated in several International projects and her research interests included the development and application of advanced ssNMR methodologies in the study of multiphase processes in 1-D and 2-D porous systems conducting 1H NMR relaxation and diffusion studies of nanofluidity in porous systems with emphasis in carbon nanotubes (CNTs) as well as silica-based materials.
Lydia Gkoura is a Postdoctoral Associate at New York University Abu Dhabi and her current research at NYUAD revolve around NMR Crystallography, a wide range of multinuclear solid-state Nuclear Magnetic Resonance ssNMR methodologies and DNP enhanced techniques combined with computational calculations with the aim to characterize polymorphism in complex crystalline materials and their application to pharmaceuticals and porous materials.
