The Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology of NCSR Demokritos celebrated its annual personnel gathering on February 10th 2026. It was a time to reflect on 2025, honor the students who defended their PhD, welcome the new students starting their PhD, and express our gratitude to the retiring personnel, Dr Anastasia Hiskia and Dr Kalliopi Trohidou. The get together took place this year in the library building offering a pleasant and family-like space. The happening included almost everything, from "Agiasmos" by Reverent Father Marinos Pitsikalis Prof. at Chemistry Department of NKUA, St Basil pie with lots of “flouria-golden-like coins” and presents, award certificates and presents, a rich and very tasty buffet, two DJs with music for all tastes until late the afternoon, and a lot of getting together and socializing! The INN director referred to the achievements of INN during 2025, such as the listing of 8 active INN researchers in the Stanford List of top 2% world-wide scientists, the hiring plan of new researchers following the 5-year Strategic Plan of INN, and the increase in proposal writing by INN researches. He also referred to the upcoming elections of new researchers and new INN Director, and the INN evaluation.
