ABOUT/BIOGRAPHY
Dr Andreas Kaidatzis obtained his first degree in Physics (2003) and his postgraduate degree in Materials Physics (2005) from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He then moved to France, were he obtained his doctoral degree in Physics from the University of Paris 11 (2008), as a Marie-Curie Fellow, studying spin-dependent transport phenomena in magnetic multilayers, extensively using magnetic scanning probe microscopies. He has worked as postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute of Microelectronics of NCSR Demokritos (2010-2011) and at the Institute of Micro and Nanotechnology of Madrid (2011-2013) in the framework of an Individual Marie-Curie Fellowship. His work was focused on the study of magnetic films and nanostructures using magnetic force microscopy. Since May 2013 he is working as a postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology of NCSR Demokritos, studying materials for magnetic memories and permanent magnets applications. Dr Kaidatzis has participated in 4 international research projects, 2 granted from the European Commission (FP7-SPOT and H2020-NOVAMAG), one from Solar-ERA.NET (Nano4CSP) and 1 from the Spanish research council (CSIC-i-Link). Since 2020, Dr. Kaidatzis coordinates the project “Spintronic Devices for Microwave Detection and Energy Harvesting Applications” supported by the NATO SPS programme.
