ABOUT/BIOGRAPHY
Dr Andreas Kaidatzis obtained his first degree in Physics (2003) and his postgraduate degree in Materials Physics (2005) from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He then moved to France, were he obtained his doctoral degree in Physics from the University of Paris 11 (2008), as a Marie-Curie Fellow, studying spin-dependent transport phenomena in magnetic multilayers, extensively using magnetic scanning probe microscopies. He has worked as postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute of Microelectronics of N.C.S.R. “Demokritos” (2010-2011) and at the Institute of Micro and Nanotechnology of Madrid (2011-2013) in the framework of an Individual Marie-Curie Fellowship. His work was focused on the study of magnetic films and nanostructures using magnetic force microscopy. From 2013 until 2024 he worked as research personnel in the framework of research projects of the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology of N.C.S.R. “Demokritos”, studying materials for spintronics, magnetic memories and permanent magnets applications. Since December 2024 he is an Associate Professor at the Department of Physics of the University of Patras, while he is also a Research Associate of N.C.S.R. “Demokritos”.
