ABOUT/BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Christos Vaitsis has studied Chemical Engineering and received his Ph.D. degree from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in the field of Metal-Organic Frameworks and electrocatalysis (supported by NTUA research committee 4-year scholarship). During his doctoral studies he was also actively involved in teaching activities over undergraduate and postgraduate (Materials Science and Technology) lab courses. He has supervised 10 postgraduate and 4 pregraduate students, regarding the synthesis of MOFs, oxides, nanoparticles, nanocomposites, applied to electrocatalysis (CO2RR, Zn-air batteries, supercapacitors) and photocatalysis (dye degradation). In 2023, he joined the Membranes and Materials for Environmental Separations Laboratory (MESL) at the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (INN). His scientific impact counters 7 journal publications, 6 book chapters, 12 participations in international and 5 in national conferences. His research interests include porous materials (MOFs, silicas, activated carbons), materials chemistry, sonochemistry, gas storage applications, electrocatalysis and CO2 reduction.
