ABOUT/BIOGRAPHY

Emmanouil Anthoulakis is a physicist specializing in nanotechnology and microsystems, currently working as a Researcher at the Epitaxy and Surface Science Lab (ESSL) of the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (INN), NCSR Demokritos. He is involved in the EU-funded Horizon project ViTFOX (Vision Transformers with Ferroelectric Oxides), focusing on the electrical characterization of ferroelectric materials for memristive electronic synapses and neuromorphic computing applications.

He holds a Master’s degree in Microsystems and Nanodevices from the National Technical University of Athens (2022–2024), and a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from the University of Crete(2017–2022). His Master’s thesis was conducted at the Electronic Nanomaterials and Devices Group of NTUA and focused on the development of nanobiosensors for pesticide detection, while his Bachelor’s thesis was carried out at the Photonic Materials and Devices Laboratory of FORTH-IESL, where he worked on optical fiber sensors for monitoring aerial agricultural spraying.

Emmanouil has expertise in ferroelectric materials, memristive devices, nanomaterials for sensing applications, and experimental characterization of electronic and photonic systems. His technical skills include electrical measurements, laboratory experimentation, data analysis, and hands-on experience in nanodevice research environments. His research has resulted in peer-reviewed publications and conference contributions, including articles in the IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Quantum Electronics and SPIE Proceedings.
