He graduated the School of Applied Sciences of the University of Brighton (BSc (Hons) in Environmental Sciences) and holds an MSc degree in Environmental Management and Sustainability, (Edinburgh Napier University). In 2016, he was awarded a PhD degree by the Department of Geology, University of Patras for his Thesis in Geochronology. His research on geochronology has produced important findings and published in top international scientific journals, while he has also delivered numerous scientific talks at international conferences. Dr Tsakalos has participated in several national and international research projects and has established collaborations (nationally and internationally) with several research groups (e.g., the University of Kyoto, University of Cyprus, University of Science and Technology of China).
