ABOUT/BIOGRAPHY

Konstantinos Firgiolas obtained his Integrated Master in Chemical Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens on 2021. During his studies, he followed the direction of Functional and Multiscale materials and he carried out his thesis with title ‘Synthesis and characterization of carbon nanostructures from agricultural waste’ under the supervision of Prof K. Kordatos. He also fulfilled two internships, a one month in the Institute of Nanosciesce and Nanomaterials of NCSR ‘Demokritos’ and a 5-month in the research group of Prof Adrian M.T. Silva at the Department of Chemical Engineering of University of Porto, where he obtained practical experience on synthesis and characterizing methods of nanomaterials, such as graphene, carbon dots, activated carbon etc, as well as their applications. On May 2023, he joined the Porous Materials Group in NCSR “Demokritos” under the direct supervision of Dr Theodore Steriotis and Dr Georgia Charalambopoulou and on May 2025 started his PhD in Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology with title ‘Utilization of nanoporous materials in gas storage and separation processes’ at the same group and in collaboration with the School of Chemical Engineering of NTUA and Prof K. Kordatos.
