ABOUT/BIOGRAPHY

Marco Agnes obtained a Ph.D. in Chemistry in 2018 from the University of Athens (Greece) in the frame of the EU Project No. 608407 (FP7-ITN) “CyclonHit,” where he was employed as an Early Stage Researcher, working at the NCSR “Demokritos,” Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, under the supervision of Dr. K. Yannakopoulou. Dissertation title:  ”Synthesis of charged cyclodextrins for encapsulation of antibiotics”. After a two-year work in the R&D laboratory of Steroid Spa (Italy), he was awarded the prestigious Marie Sklodowska Curie Individual Fellowship (MSCA-IF) and joined the Institute of Organic Synthesis and Photoreactivity, National Research Council, Italy (ISOF-CNR) in 2020, in the frame of the EU Project No. 894942 “HypoCyclo". His research is performed in collaboration with Dr. I. Manet with the aim to develop multifunctional polymeric cyclodextrin nanocarriers for novel triple-negative breast cancer treatment”.
