ABOUT/BIOGRAPHY
Nikoleta Chouchoumi is currently a PhD candidate, in collaboration with the NCSR “Demokritos” and the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). She obtained her B.Sc. (2021) and M.Sc. (2023) degrees in Materials Science from the University of Crete and the NTUA, respectively.
During her academic and postgraduate career, she has collaborated with the Ultrafast Laser Micro- and Nano-processing group at IESL–FORTH (2020–2021), the Energy Harvesting and Autonomous Sensors group at the INN of NCSR “Demokritos” (2022–2023), the Laser Structuring and Functionalization of Materials and Devices group at the Theoretical and Physical Chemistry Institute (TPCI) of the National Hellenic Research Foundation (NHRF) (2024–2025), and the Sensors Lab at the NTUA (2023–present). Her doctoral research focuses on two-dimensional magnetic heterostructures for spintronic applications. Her expertise includes physical and chemical deposition techniques for thin films and nanomaterials, and she has experience in both theoretical and experimental research, as well as teaching assistance.
