ABOUT/BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Nikos Zacharopoulos is a chemist with a background in organometallic and coordination chemistry. He earned his BSc, MSc, and PhD from the chemistry department of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. His doctoral research focused on the synthesis and characterization of novel ruthenium-based organometallic and coordination complexes, investigating their catalytic performance in transfer hydrogenation and α,β-alkylation reactions. Following his PhD, he has contributed to several national and European research initiatives, collaborating with institutions such as the University of West Attica and the National Technical University of Athens. Currently, he is a postdoctoral researcher at the National Centre for Scientific Research “Demokritos” (NSRC Demokritos), where his work centers on the design, synthesis, and characterization of advanced materials for optoelectronic applications, including solar cells and LED devices. He has authored over ten peer-reviewed publications and has presented his research at numerous national and international scientific conferences.
