ABOUT/BIOGRAPHY

Panagiota–Patapia Soukouli is a Materials Science researcher with a strong academic background in Physics and an MSc in Advanced Materials Technologies from the University of Ioannina. She is currently working at the National Centre for Scientific Research “Demokritos”, where her research focuses on the development, engineering, and characterization of two-dimensional (2D) materials and advanced thin-film systems. Her work includes the study of nanocomposite oxides and metal oxide heterojunctions for photovoltaic, catalytic, and photoelectric applications, utilizing vacuum technologies and advanced X-ray characterization techniques.

She is actively involved in the European research project 2D-ENGINE, which aims at the engineering of novel 2D material phases not existing in nature. Panagiota has participated in international conferences, workshops, and large-scale research facilities. Her research interests lie in advanced functional materials, applied nanotechnology, and the development of innovative material systems for next-generation energy and electronic applications.
