ABOUT/BIOGRAPHY
Dr. S. Chatzandroulis is Director of Research at the Institute of Nanoscience & Nanotechnology, National Center for Scientific Research “Demokritos”. He holds a B.Sc from the Physics Department, University of Athens, Greece in 1990, a M.Sc on Electronic Automation in 1993 and a PhD degree on “Integrated Pressure Sensors” from the same department in 1999. He is a member of IEEE and MRS society. Dr Chatzandroulis has been involved in several European and National projects involving academics and industrials aiming to develop biosensing and microfluidic components and systems for disease diagnosis and environmental applications. Dr Chatzandroulis has worked on the development of a number of sensors, including pressure sensors, chemical sensors and biosensors and their corresponding electronic readout and control circuitry. He has authored or co-authored more than 60 papers in in peer-reviewed journals and more than 30 in conference proceedings. He holds 1 U.S. patent and 4 Greek patents. He has supervised 3 PhD and 14 Master theses, and been a member of the advisory committee of 7 PhD theses.
His current interests focus on Micro- Nano Bio- Systems including Lab-on-Chip, wearables and micro analytical devices.
