ABOUT/BIOGRAPHY
Zoi Georgiopoulou is a third-year Ph.D. candidate at NCSR "Demokritos", conducting research on Organic and Perovskite Optoelectronics. She completed her five-year Integrated Master’s studies at the School of Applied Mathematical and Physical Sciences of the National Technical University of Athens, where she specialized in Optoelectronics, Lasers, and Advanced Technological Materials. Her diploma thesis was carried out at the Photonics Communications Research Laboratory, where she gained experience in hybrid optical communication systems and optical sensors.
She also completed a two-month internship at Lamda Technology Ltd., focusing on theoretical research in optical fiber biosensors. She then pursued a Master’s degree in Applied Optoelectronics, where she acquired in-depth knowledge of modern photonics technologies. Her Master’s thesis investigated both theoretical and experimental aspects of organic light-emitting diodes incorporating carbon quantum dots as electron transfer materials. This work was conducted at the laboratories of the Institute of Nanoscience & Nanotechnology of NCSR “Demokritos” under the supervision of Principal Researcher Maria Vasilopoulou.
