This Service laboratory, established in 2003, is equipped with a ΤΑ Instruments 2920 Temperature Modulated Differential Scanning Calorimeter (MDSC). MDSC offers all the benefits of standard DSC and provides further information for greater understanding of material properties, because it can separate overlapping events (for example, glass transition temperature and relaxation phenomena) that are difficult or impossible to do by standard DSC.

The lab supports research carried out by the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, and Demokritos Centre in general, related to thermal characterization of polymers (glass transition temperature, crystallinity, etc) and other materials used in various scientific and technological areas. It also provides service to academic and industrial users.
