Materials with unpaired electrons: Inorganic synthetic compounds of transition metals and lanthanides, organic and inorganic polymers, organic radicals, carbon based materials. Catalytic centers in biological systems, conventional magnetic materials and magnetic nanoparticles. Strongly correlated electron systems, semiconductors, photocells, archaeological and geological materials. Trapping and detection of paramagnetic intermediates in chemical reactions.
