VortexLC is a new PATHFINDER project in which the plasma and the microfluidics groups of INN participate. It is led by the Free Brussels University, and was accepted with the highest score of 5/5 in the recent call for proposals in 2021.The project has the noble goal to provide plasma functionalized microfluidics for early monitoring of diabetes through the level of hemoglobin HbA1c separated via on-chip vortex enhanced electrochromatography. The project aspires to improve the quality of life of more than 500million people worldwide suffering from diabetes.
