As of 2006 she has joined the Group for Palaeoenvironmental and Ancient Metals Studies, (PAMS group), of the Archaeometry Laboratory. She received her B.Sc. degree in Geology from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and a Ph.D. degree from the School of Mining and Metallurgical Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens, (NTUA), in the field of Geochemistry. Her research interests span the following areas: Studies on ancient metals emphasizing on the technology, provenance and corrosion; Conservation of archaeological metallic objects using plasma chemistry methods; Characterization of archaeological objects using optical and scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and X-ray fluorescence; Studies of archaeological residues; Theoretical and experimental studies of plasma during the conservation of metallic objects; Studies of the chaotic state during the plasma treatment of metal objects; Palaeoenviromental Studies; Sea level oscillation and sea level interaction for landscapes reconstruction. She has participated in several European and National research projects and she has co-authored over 40 articles in international conferences and journals. Since 2014 she serves as a secretary on the board of the Hellenic Society of Archaeometry.
