Prototype Plasma device
At PAMPS group facilities, a prototype plasma device is used for the restoration and conservation of archaeological metallic and non metallic artefacts.
The RF glow discharge plasma device was manufactured by Vacotec SA, similar to Veprek’s prototype apparatus. The reaction chamber is a Pyrex bell jar of 40 cm inner diameter and 60 cm length, while the reactor is equipped with gas inlets and mass flow meters for hydrogen and nitrogen gases as well as a pumping system. Power supply, matching network, thermometer for direct temperature measurement are parts of this system.
