PHYMET tackles the metal enrichment on tailings, “contaminated” soils and water from mining activities. Specifically targets mining waste, and during the project a full design for the application to industrial waste will be produced, focusing on the metal ion recovery. The aims are (a) to avoid raw material waste and hazardous contamination from the waste itself, the diffusion of metals in streams or in grazing land and (b) to use selected metals in order to produce high added value products.
