ABOUT/BIOGRAPHY
Assoc. Prof. Athanassios G. Kontos studied Physics at the University of Athens (BSc) and the Warwick University-UK (PhD). In 1996-2007, he joined the Raman spectroscopy group in the Dept. of Physics, School of Applied Mathematics and Physical Sciences (SAMPS) of the National Technical Univ. of Athens (NTUA) involved in research of bulk and layered semiconductors. In 2007-2019, he worked as a senior researcher and then as a director of research at the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology of NCSR ‘Demokritos’ working in the fields of photocatalysis, dye sensitized and perovskite solar cells. Since 2019, he is Associate Professor in SAMPS-NTUA with educational activity and research work in optical spectroscopy and electrical characterization of solid state materials and devices while he continues his research in INN-NCSR Demokritos as a Collaborative Researcher. He has 131 publications in international refereed journals and much participation in conferences and research projects.
