ABOUT/BIOGRAPHY

Ioanna Kefala was born in 1979, in Karpenisi, Greece.
She received her Diploma on “Chemical Engineering” from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2003, her M.Sc. degree on “Computational Mechanics” in 2005 from the School of Chemical Engineering NTUA, her M.Sc. degree on “Automation Systems” in 2008 from the School of Mechanical Engineering, NTUA and her M.Sc. degree on “Microsystems and Nanodevices” in 2015 from the School of Applied Mathematical and Physical Sciences, NTUA.

Currently, she is a Ph.D. candidate at the School of Mechanical Engineering, National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), with her Ph.D. thesis entitled “Design and fabrication of a microfluidic device for rare cell sorting on a lab-on-chip”. She is author/co-author of 6 publications in peer-reviewed international journals.
