ABOUT/BIOGRAPHY

Konstantina Gkini has received her diploma in Physics at University of Patras. She completed her Master in Energy at Heriot-Watt University and her master’s dissertation subject is «Perovskite materials for solar cells». Since 2016, she is a PhD student at Patras University, Department of Physics, and realizes her experiments at NCSR "Demokritos" under the supervision of Dr. Falaras. The subject of her thesis concerns perovskite solar cells and it is expected to be completed in 2022. Her research activity focuses on the fabrication, characterization and optimization of 3rd generation solar cells. More specific, the study of perovskite materials for their use as absorbers or holes transport materials in perovskite solar cells (PSCs), the fabrication and electrochemical characterization of PSCs and their interface engineering using porphyrins, dyes and carbon-based materials. She has received two scholarships for her PhD studies and, up to now, she is a co-author in 8 peer-reviewed scientific publications. She has participated with poster presentations in several conferences and with oral presentations in two national and international scientific conferences. Her research interest includes advanced materials and devices for solar energy harvesting, storage and conversion.
