ABOUT/BIOGRAPHY

Roupen Vartian graduated with distinction from the School of Applied Mathematical and Physical Sciences (SAMPS) at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2022, earning a final grade of 9.40/10 (classified as "excellent"). He was awarded the Excellence Prize by the State Scholarship Foundation as the top-ranked graduate of the same academic year. His diploma thesis, titled "Vibrational Spectroscopy on Flexible Metal-Organic Frameworks," involved extensive use of Raman and FT-IR spectroscopy techniques. From 2023 to 2024, he served as a Research Fellow at the Institute of Organic Synthesis and Photoreactivity (ISOF) of the National Research Council of Italy (CNR) in Bologna. There, he focused on hyperspectral imaging studies of erythrocytes, investigating oxidative stress and the cellular effects associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder. As of 2025, he holds the position of Research Associate at NCSR “Demokritos,” working under the supervision of Dr. Stergiopoulos. His current research interests concern the development of hybrid and flexible thermoelectric generators using solution-processed chalcogenide thin films.
