NMR Laboratory for liquid Samples

High Resolution NMR spectroscopy is an analytical technique used by all chemistry laboratories for structure elucidation and characterization of molecules and materials in solution with applications in a wide range of disciplines.

Services, Products and Activities

The lab offers services to Academic and Research Institutions as well as the Pharmaceutical, Food and Agrochemical Industry on a variety of scientific problems.

  • Structure elucidation of specific additives/contaminants/pollutants
  • Quantitative analysis (chemical composition determination, formulation investigation, raw material fingerprinting, mixture analysis, sample purity determination)
  • Compound identification/presence confirmation in mixtures
  • Identification and conformational analysis of chemicals, synthetic or natural
  • Characterization of soluble materials (e.g. polymers)
  • Monitoring of compound stability/investigation of chemical transformations with time or temperature

The NMR Laboratory is equipped with a 500 MHz (11.7 Tesla) and a 250 MHz (5.8 Tesla) NMR spectrometers.  Routine experiments involve observation of 1H, 13C, 15N, 31P and 19F nuclei in liquid samples.  Furthermore, a variety of sophisticated experiments may be carried out to address specific inquiries.
