Thermal processing of ceramics and coatings including: a) Calcination and sintering of many types of advanced ceramics and ceramic-matrix composites in air, vacuum or specialist atmospheres. b) Oxyacetylene flame-spraying of protective coatings of metals, including aluminium alloys. Possible coatings are alumina ceramics, hard metals and alloys and other specialist materials.
