The plasma, microfluidics, and polymer-based sensor groups participate in this recently accepted ERANET-RU proposal to explore a new allotropic form of extremely hard carbon, called carbyne and developed by the Russian team. The groups will functionalize the carbyne films with plasma and use them as sensors and as bactericidal surfaces in microfluidics.
