Electrochemistry

The electrochemistry facility of the EHAS group consists of:

  • a fume hood complete with water sink and gas gun for sample drying
  • electrochemical cells for anodization, material growth and supercapacitor characterization
  • Hot and cold plates for temperature control
  • Electronic equipment for current and voltage biasing and monitoring

This facility is being used for a variety of activities such as:

  • Porous Si and porous alumina formation through anodization
  • Metal Assisted Chemical Etching (MACE) of Si nanowires
  • Electrodeposition of metals
  • Supercapacitor characterization through cyclic voltammetry
