“Smart” Microfluidics and Lab-on-a-Chip

“Smart microfluidics and Lab on a Chip” has been a strong activity in our group aiming the fabrication and application of microfluidics in health diagnostics and environmental monitoring. In “smart microfluidics” we embed functional, plasma engineered surfaces in microfluidics and enhance their properties and uses. We can thus incorporate hydrophilic biomolecule binding areas, or superhydrophobic non-binding, antifouling areas, or even superhydrophobic valves. This activity has grown large enough to become a separate group since 2019. Therefore, all activities related to microfluidics and Lab on a Chip are reported in detail in the new Microfluidics, Lab- & Organ-on-Chip group in which the key researchers of the Plasma group also participate. Please visit the webpage of the Microfluidics, Lab- & Organ-on-Chip group for more information ihttps://inn.demokritos.gr/research_group/microfluidics-lab-and-organ-on-a-chip/.
